The LM 27 is one of the most popular small motor sailers from the range of craft built by LM Boats Inter'l A/S, Denmark. The craft offers a good level of comfort, with the Galley outside of the main accommodation (required by Danish regulations) a generous Cockpit with over-hang from cabin construction for protection of the raised helm and Galley (opposite). BROKER'S COMMENTS: Known to us with the present and previous owners who not only have taken care of this craft, but also keen to see that all maintenance has been carried out Surveyed in 2012 and all recommendations were carried out, including a number of improvements, including a 'Copper-Coat' hull application - carried out inside an enclosed workshop in March 2013. At the same time, the hull and superstructure were professionally polished.
A true 'family craft' with accommodation forward in V-form - which can become a generous twin with the infill and cushions. A solid door separates the Fore-cabin from the Main Cabin. Settees to both Port & Starboard (P&S) have stowage spaces behind and within the seat. A total of 6 persons can be accommodated within the 'fit out'. A table is set in the middle of the Main Cabin where, with hinged extensions, offers 'family eating'. Headroom is approx. 6ft. Windows with curtains are fitted to both P&S. The deck-head has 'classic' yacht hatch, opening with glazed side and top sections which provide light and ventilation to the accommodation. Forward is the Heads with hand-basin to Port and a 'hanging locker' to Starboard. The door ahead - with two steps up - opens to the Helm, the Galley and generous Cockpit. Now with the Broker - ashore at Newhaven. See: www.lochin.com

Navigation Equipment
In addition to the engine information, located at the helm are the following units:
-Silva magnetic steering compass;
-Shipmate GPS CP32 Plotter incl. speed & log;
-Navman VHF/DSC radio;
-Humming-Bird sounder/fish-finder ;
-Autohelm wind/speed/direction unit;
-Autohelm auto-pilot to tiller (de-mountable) which is fitted to the rudder stock.

Mechanical
The 28hp Volvo engine appears to be original to the craft and has had regular servicing. The unit is below the deck, between the Galley and the raised helm position. Access to the fore-part of the engine is with a forward section of the sole (floor) removed between the Heads and the hanging locker. Access to the gear-box and shaft is by lifting central sections of the deck in the Cockpit.
Additionally, for example, the ‘deep-sea’ bearing and seal were replaced in 2010. The engine oil and filter was changed together with drain down of the fresh water system, and anti-freeze of the ‘sea-water’ side of the cooling system. The inlet valve for cooling water was re-placed in 2012, and the anodes renewed in March 2013. The oil & filters were changed in April 2013, - with a diesel additive added at the same time. All external skin fittings (viz. sea-cocks) were also inspected and serviced in December 2013.

Electrical
2 x 12v batteries, charged by engine alternator and switched for engine start isolation. Engine start battery new in 2011. Switched and fused 12v electrics panel for accessories. 240vAC hook-up facility and cable. RCD & 13amp ring main replaced in Sept 2009. This circuit provides for the electric cabin heater when moored alongside.

Accommodation
The craft is best boarded at the Cockpit, where a purpose-made blue cover (new 2013) has 'see-through' sections, as well as a zip-out section over the stern end of the Cockpit. The section rolls up to provide full access to the Cockpit, which is fitted with bench seating and purpose-made cushions - to both sides. Forward to Starboard is the raised HELM location. The 'Skipper'/ Helmsman has engine throttle/gear control and instrumentation together with the listed navigation items. An opening deck-head hatch provides good all-round vision. A 'fridge' is within the supporting structure. Opposite is the GALLEY, set in a timber structure with drawers and cupboards below. The work-top has a stainless steel sink and drainer, with a conventional cold water supply from the craft's water tank. (Cleaned and sterilised in 2010). A 2-burner gas hob, is also set within the purpose built steel tray. The supporting wooden structure offers stowage drawers for cleaning material, etc. beyond - under the side decks . The Cockpit seats to Port & Starboard each have stowage spaces under, including the Galley's gas cylinder, secured in a purpose-made GRP box and cover. The GRP box which includes an evacuation vent, leading through the hull. 'Easy-clean' made-to-fit vinyl upholstery cushions in the Cockpit were replaced in April 2011. Wet-weather gear can be stowed without going into the accommodation areas. A folding table is stowed (cleverly) under the aft deck. It extends virtually to the Galley - making it possible to offer seating -and eating! - for up to 6 persons. Opposite the Galley is a 'fridge/cold-box within the structure of the raised helm seat. which offers 360deg visibility.
Forward, the door in the bulkhead - adjacent to both the raised helm and the Galley - has a lock fitted, if limiting only the owner & family having access. Ahead, is the Heads compartment to Port and the hanging locker opposite. Forward is the MAIN CABIN with bench seating/single berths to Port and Starboard, complete with fitted cushions and sliding glass-fronted spaces beyond. Stowage is offered under the seats. The table on the centre-line has 'drop-down' sections providing ease of moving fore and aft., as well as providing a generous sized table when raised. A glazed 'hatch' is set above in the deck-head - for light and ventilation. The style is characteristic of 'yester-year' in design with hinged sections which open for light and ventilation. Beyond is the FORE CABIN which has a double berth - with stowage spaces unde - and a narrow shelf around the cabin. Fabric lining to cabin sides; pvc head-lining; stowage under berths and hatches to spaces forward, provide for ventilation & emergency escape, if and when necessary.

Owner’s Comments
'I was attracted to the LM 27 by her clean lines and the care of the then current owner. I have had a number of improvements/up-dates undertaken during 2012/3 and am now ready to sell with perhaps a more 'classic craft' in thought'. Note: the photos of the Main Cabin show two different covers to the seating. The 'check' design was superceded by the plain covers 2 years ago.

Broker’s Comments
'We have known this craft for a number of years. Each of the recent owners attended to all aspects of the craft and had work carried out and/or new elements purchased, to maintain both the craft's value and comfort. A recent 'cut and polish' - of both hull & superstructure - has made this craft 'like new'. Equally, the application of 'Copper-coat' to the underwater areas makes a very attractive opportunity to acquire a craft which not only looks much younger, but one where attention to detail has been very much the approach of the current and past owners. A warm-air ducted system was installed new in 2010: (In need of service). Lying close to the Broker.
