The LM 27 is one of the most popular small motor sailers from the range of craft built by LM Boats Inter'l A/S, Denmark. The craft offers a good level of comfort, with a Galley outside of the main accommodation (required by Danish regulations) a generous Cockpit with over-hang from cabin construction for protection of the raised helm and Galley (opposite). BROKER'S COMMENTS: Known to us with the present and previous owners who not only have taken care of this craft, but also keen to see that all maintenance has been carried out and a number of improvements made including a 'Copper-Coat' hull application in March 2013. At the same time, the hull and superstructure were professionally polished. Surveyed in 2012 and all recommendations were undertaken. A true 'family craft' with balanced accommodation within the forward berths, table and headroom, as well as the external seating, table, Galley and raised helm position for better vision.

Navigation Equipment
In addition to the engine information, located at the helm are the following units:
-Silva magnetic steering compass;
-Shipmate GPS CP32 Plotter incl. speed & log;
-Navman VHF/DSC radio;
-Humming-Bird sounder/fish-finder ;
-Autohelm wind/speed/direction unit;
-Autohelm auto-pilot to tiller (de-mountable) which is fitted to the rudder stock.

Mechanical
Whilst the 28hp Volvo engine appears to be original to the craft. It has had regular servicing. Deep-sea bearing and seal replaced in 2010. Inlet valve for cooling water re-newed in 2012.
Access is by lifting the central sections of the sole in the Cockpit. The engine unit is below the deck between the Galley and raised helm with a section between the Heads and hanging locker locations - providing access to the fore-part of the engine. Oil & filters changed April 2013. Anodes renewed in March 2013. All external skin fittings (viz. sea-cocks)were also inspected and serviced in December 2013. Engine oil and filter changed December 2013 with Diesel additive added at the same time, together with drain down of fresh water system, anti-freeze through the sea-water side of the cooling system.

Electrical
2 x 12v batteries, charged by engine alternator and switched for engine start isolation. Engine start battery new in 2011. Switched and fused 12v electrics panel for accessories. 240vAC hook-up facility and cable. RCD & 13amp ring main replaced in Sept 2009. This circuit provides for the electric cabin heater when moored alongside.

Accommodation
The craft is best boarded at the Cockpit. From right aft, a purpose-made cover (new 2013) includes both a 'see-through section as well as a zip-out section over the stern end of the Cockpit. The section rolls up to provide full access to the Cockpit - fitted with bench seating and purpose- made cushions - to both sides. Forward to Starboard is the raised HELM location. The 'Skipper'/ Helmsman has engine throttle/gear control and instrumentation together with the listed navigation items. An opening deck-head hatch provides good all-round vision. A 'fridge' is within the supporting structure. Opposite is the GALLEY, set within a timber structure with drawers and cupboards below. The work-top has a stainless steel drainer & sink, with cold water supply from water tank. (Cleaned and sterilised in 2010). A 2-burner gas hob, is also set within the purpose built steel tray. The Cockpit seats to Port, with stowage under, includes the Galley's gas cylinder in a purpose-made GRP box and cover, and an evacuating vent leading through the hull. The 'easy-clean' vinyl upholstered, made to fit cushions in the Cockpit were replaced in April 2011. A central table - folding and stowed under the aft deck - extends virtually to the Galley - certainly offers up to 6 persons.
Forward, the door in the bulkhead - adjacent to both the helm and Galley - has a lock fitted, limiting only the owner & family having access. Ahead, is the Heads compartment to Port and the hanging locker opposite. Forward is the MAIN CABIN with bench seating to Port and Starboard, complete with cushions. Lockers are under the seats and 'under side-deck' stowage is also provided. The table on the centre-line has 'drop-down' sections providing space moving fore and aft. An opening, glazed hatch is set in the deck-head for light and ventilation. Ahead is the FORECABIN with access to anchor locker through forward bulkhead. Fabric lining to cabin sides; pvc head-lining; stowage under berths. Hatch to Fore-deck for ventilation & emergency escape.

Safety Equipment
Full navigation lights.
1 x Lifebouy in cradle fitted aft on guide-rails;
3 x fire-extinguishers; auto fire extinguisher in engine space;
Auto-electric bilge pump (all fitted new in 2013).
1 x Fire Blanket; 2 x life-jackets. Flares (new in 2013)

Sails: 1 x Main - with furling on boom - and cover.
1 x Foresail with roller furling.
1 x Jib sheet - fits furler.
Mainsheet control brought aft close to transom. Foresheets to travellers and winches on Cockpit coamings. The Main & Genoa combined area is approx. 408sq.ft. (approx. 40 sq.mtrs).

Deck & General
2 x Anchor (Brittany Kedge), chain and warp, housed within fore-deck locker. Mooring lines, fenders & boat-hook. Stainless steel (s/s) Pulpit and Pushpit fittings with s/s deck stanchions and double stainless guard wires. Stanchions removed, re-fitted and bonded in 2009. Minor cracks were found in the side decks - cleaned back, made good and finished with gel coat in 2010. Fairleads and cleats with substantial fore-deck cleat for anchoring. Wooden handrails to coach-roof of Deck Saloon. Cockpit covers - new in 2012 - with transparent sections and zip roll up sections - all with s/s frame support. Folding transom ladder at stern.

Owner’s Comments
'I was attracted to the LM 27 by her clean lines and the care of the then current owner. I have had a number of improvements/up-dates undertaken during 2012/3 and am now ready to sell with perhaps a more 'classic craft' in thought'. Note: the photos of the Main Cabin show two different covers to the seating. The 'check' design was superceded by the plain covers 2 years ago.

Broker’s Comments
'We have known this craft for a number of years. Each of the recent owners attended to all aspects of the craft and had work carried out and/or new elements purchased, to maintain both the craft's value and comfort. A recent 'cut and polish' - of both hull & superstructure - has made this craft 'like new'. Equally, the application of 'Copper-coat' to the underwater areas makes a very attractive opportunity to acquire a craft which not only looks much younger, but one where attention to detail has been very much the approach of the current and past owners. A warm-air ducted system was installed new in 2010: (In need of service). Lying close to the Broker. The craft is currently 'winterized': January 2015.
